Application Information

Dear families, 

The kindergarten application is now open! If you live in New York City and have a child born in 2018, you can apply to kindergarten by January 20, 2023! 

For the first time, you can also apply to kindergarten Gifted & Talented (G&T) programs on the same kindergarten application. If you list G&T programs on your application, eligibility will be determined after you apply. To learn more, visit our website.  

You can apply in one of three ways:  

• Online with MySchools.nyc—Recommended! Create your account today. You’ll use MySchools to search for elementary schools, find great choices for your child’s application, apply to kindergarten, and get your child’s offer. Watch these video tutorials to learn how to create your MySchools account and how to apply.  

• By phone at 718-935-2009. Call us Monday-Friday between 8am and 6pm.  

• Contact a Family Welcome Center. Learn how at schools.nyc.gov/FWC.  

Please note that kindergarten admissions is not first come, first served: there is no advantage to applying early, and all applications received by the deadline are treated the same.
